Read the excerpt from chapter 29 of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

In spite of having been at St. James’s, Sir William was so completely awed by the grandeur surrounding him, that he had but just courage enough to make a very low bow, and take his seat without saying a word; and his daughter, frightened almost out of her senses, sat on the edge of her chair, not knowing which way to look. Elizabeth found herself quite equal to the scene, and could observe the three ladies before her composedly. Lady Catherine was a tall, large woman, with strongly-marked features, which might once have been handsome. Her air was not conciliating, nor was her manner of receiving them such as to make her visitors forget their inferior rank. She was not rendered formidable by silence; but whatever she said was spoken in so authoritative a tone, as marked her self-importance, and brought Mr. Wickham immediately to Elizabeth’s mind; and from the observation of the day altogether, she believed Lady Catherine to be exactly what he represented.

Which statement best describes the economic context of the setting?

A. Most guests are uncomfortable with socializing outside of their status.
B. Lady Catherine is approachable despite her high social status.
C. The guests are assigned to seats.
D. Sir William finds the setting familiar.

Answers

you were called to principal office because you were involved in a fight in class write two diary entries

Answers

Answer: The following is down below.

Explanation:

4/2/17

Dear diary,

The fight went something like this:

Jeff and I sat next to each other for history class.  We usually pass notes while we're finishing our boring homework.  As usual, he started the conversation with my choice of hat.

Jeff: What's with the hat?  Are you emo or something?

Me: Just because I'm wearing a black hat doesn't make me emo.

Jeff: Fine.  Why are you always so defensive?  Can't you just be chill for one second?

Me: Are we really talking about this Jeff?  I have to get my homework done.

Jeff: Since when were you so eager to finish schoolwork?  Last I checked, you'd rather count the ceiling tiles than do your geometry homework.

Me: So?  Has it ever dawned to you that I have nothing but C-'s and D+'s for a report card and that I would want to get decent grades for a change?

Jeff: Are you serious?  Who are you?  I thought we were buddies.

Me: I don't know what to tell you, Jeff.  Honestly, if you're going to fight me on something like this, you might as well get it over with.

Jeff: I don't believe this.

Me: Fight me or finish your homework knowing you lost.  It's your choice.

Jeff: Is that a threat?

Me: No, it's a promise.

Then it got worse from there.  Seriously, with friends like Jeff, really, who needs enemies?

All for now,

(Three days later...)

4/5/17

Dear diary,

Life couldn't get much worse.  This is the second time I've gone to the principal's office in the last week.  If I go to the office one more time, I'll be suspended from school!  However, the principal's office is the least of my worries.  I still have to go home clutching another detention slip in hopes of stashing it before my parents find out.

Jeff couldn't be more of a pest.  He's the reason I'm sitting on the waiting chair next to him.  He looks like he's going to be executed or something.  I guess Jeff has never been to the principal.

Then, we were called to Mr. Dodson's office.  Jeff and I slowly walked toward the office.  As we sat down, the principal looked between the two of us as if concentrating on what James Hastings did this time.

Mr. Dodson: Well well.  I see Mr. Hastings is back again with another problem.

Jeff: Please Mr. Dodson!  Please don't punish me!

Me: Oh, drop the act.  Everyone in class saw our notes and the fight.

Mr. Dodson: I'm afraid I'll have to give you both detention.  As for you James, I really need you to do better than this.  Your sister is worried about you being suspended if you keep this up.

Jeff: (Snickers).

Mr. Dodson: (Clears his throat): As for you Mr. Neal, I suggest that you cut the laughter short.  You're in as much trouble as James is, so I recommend you keep quiet.  Now, please take these slips and be on your way.  Remember what I said!

Jeff and me: Yes sir.

And it pretty much unraveled from there.  Man detention stinks.

All for now,

(End of diary entries)
