A student borrows $60,000 for business school at 6.5% stated annual interest with equal monthly payments over 10 years. Consider this as a loan with no payments or interest during school so that the problem structure is equivalent to a standard loan received one period before the first payment. How much is the monthly payment?

Answers

Answer:

  $681.29

Explanation:

The amortization formula seems to apply. The monthly payment on a loan of P at rate r for t years is ...

  A = P(r/10)/(1 -(1 +r/12)^(-12t))

For the given loan parameters, the monthly payment is ...

  A = $60,000(0.065/12)/(1 -(1 +0.065/12)^(-12·10)) ≈ $681.29

The monthly payment is $681.29.

how to study thermodynamics?

Answers

It is study of the relationships between heat, temprature, work and energy

Thermodynamics is one of the few engineering courses that I would say are more conceptual than computaional. I can not emphasise how important it is to fully understand thermodynamic terminology and process. Once you understand those any problems can be easily worked out.

What I recommend is that you go through you thermodynamics book and read it carefully highlighting the important points and summarizing them in a spare notebook. The first few chapters are full of indroductory concepts such as the state of a system, processes, closed and open systems, etc. That I reccomend you memorize(with understanding ofcourse) as these are carried on all throughout.

As chapters get more complex I recommend flow charts and mind maps with as much condensed information as possible.

The volume of microbial culture is observed to increase according to the formula
V(m^3)=e^t
where t is time in seconds
a,calculate the expression for V(in^3) in terms of t(minute)
b,

Answers

The expression of V(m³)=e^(t(s)) to make V in in³ and t in minutes is;

V(in³) = (¹/₆₁₀₂₄)a[tex]e^{\frac{1}{60}bt(h)[/tex]

We are given that;

Volume of microbial culture is observed to increase according to the formula;

V = e^(t)

where;

t is in seconds

V is in m³

We want to now express V in in³ and t in minutes.

Now, from conversions;

1 m³ = 61024 in³

Also; 1 second = 1/60 minutes

according to formula for exponential decay, we know that;

V = ae^(bt)

Thus, we have;

61024V = ae^(¹/₆₀b(t(h))

V(in³) = (¹/₆₁₀₂₄)a[tex]e^{\frac{1}{60}bt(h)[/tex]

A 100 MHz generator with Vg= 10/00 v and internal resistance 50 ohms air line that is 3.6m and terminated in a 25+j25 ohm load

Answers

The value of Vz at point z from the generator  = 17.748 ∠ -107.62°  V

Given data :

Internal resistance = 50 ohms

Vg = 10 ∠ 0° v

length of air line = 3.6 m

Terminating resistance = 25 + j25 Ω

First step : Determine the Total impedance

Total Impedance ( z ) = Rin + Rline + Rl + jXl

                                   = 50 + 50 + 25 + j25

                                   = 125 + j25  ≈ 127.47 ∠ 11.3°

Next step : Determine the current in the circuit

current ( I ) = Vg / z

                  =  ( 10∠0° v ) / ( 127.47 ∠ 11.3° )

                 = 0.0784 ∠ -11.3  amp

Final step : Determine the value of Vz at point z from the generator

Vz = ( Vg + I * Ri ) - ( RI * I + Rline * I )

    = ( 10∠0° + 0.0784 ∠ -11.3  * 50 ) - ( 25 + j25  + 50 * 0.0784 ∠ -11.3 )

    = -5.37 - j16.91  ≈  17.748 ∠ -107.62°  V

Hence we can conclude that the value of Vz at point z form the generator 17.748 ∠ -107.62°  V
