What were Black Codes and how did they effect the newly freed African-Americans?

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Black codes were put into place at louisiana by the french later on when the french handed louisiana over to the spanish they changed it to Spanish Slave Laws which offered a lot more freedom to slaves including freedom itself. Slaves could by their own freedom resulting in over 15,000 free people of color. When the spanish gave the territory back to the French and the French gave it to America there was a slave revolt in Haiti that scared the Americans into putting Black Code back into place saying that if a Free Black is out past curfew they could be put in jail. Also this made it unable for blacks to become political leaders.

A lion's roar can be heard five miles away
The lion has the loudest roar of all the big cats. It's so loud it can reach 114 decibels (at a distance of around one meter) and can be heard from as far away as five miles.

Why might someone not like Capitalism?

Answers

Answer:

Capitalism concentrates all of its efforts on profiting those who have the means to invest while ignoring those who don’t and also ignoring externalities. It is content to pollute and destroy our planet and falsely justifies it all in the name of a questionable greater good. No amount of wealth will make up for a destroyed ecosystem. It, all too often, treats workers as expendable - enslaving them through economic necessity instead of chains - instead of as fellow human beings.

It divides people into those who have only their labor and wits (and those of others) with which to acquire the necessities of life and those who can sit back and do nothing productive, living and getting rich, instead, off of rent - collecting money for the use of something that they did not create. This is especially true of “earning” interest on money that never existed until the banker creates the loan

the concept that a State's people should vote whether to be a Slave state or Free state

Answers

Answer:

Though slavery is now a widely unaccepted concept, the concept that a State's people should vote whether to be a Slave state or a Free state is still a vivid topic in most history classes.

The concept that a State's people should vote during the time of slavery meant that white men were only allowed to vote. Blacks nor women were allowed to. Along with that, state's believed that by giving men the right to vote whether state should be a Slave or a Free state would fall on the choices of those within the state and what they believed in. It fell under the concept or popular sovereignty, in which people of each state/territory would decided the fate of the State.
