mechanical weathering and chemical weathering
urgent very urgent!!!!

Answers

Answer:

Hope this helps 0-0!

Explanation:

Mechanical weathering breaks rocks into smaller pieces without changing their composition. Ice wedging and abrasion are two important processes of mechanical weathering. Chemical weathering breaks down rocks by forming new minerals that are stable at the Earth's surface. Physical, or mechanical, weathering happens when rock is broken through the force of another substance on the rock such as ice, running water, wind, rapid heating/cooling, or plant growth. Chemical weathering occurs when reactions between rock and another substance dissolve the rock, causing parts of it to fall away

Identify and discuss elements of the American view of the political system.

Answers

Answer:

America has the political structure of a federal republic, with a federal government that is in charge of the administration of the nation, and state governments that exercise sovereignty over their respective territories in conjunction with the federal government.

In turn, its government is divided into three branches: the executive branch, in charge of the President, who is in charge of managing the nation's resources and enforcing its laws; the legislative power, in charge of Congress, that sanctions the laws of the nation; and the judiciary, in charge of the Supreme Court, whose function is to sanction those who violate the rules. Furthermore, all these powers of the government control each other through the checks and balances system.

Answer:

There are 5 important elements of the American view of the political system, liberty, equality, democracy, civic duty, individual responsibility. Liberty is that Americans have there right and should be free as they please except this freedoms can be taken when you can harm someone else. Equality is everyone should have an equal vote and a equal chance to participate and succeed. Democracy is the government should be accountable to by people. Civic duty is Americans feel people must take community affairs seriously and help when they can. Finally, Individual responsibility is the American view that barring some disability they are responsible for their own actions and well-being.

In 750 word essay, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a compromise such as the Missouri compromise. Decide whether compromise are necessary in a democratic republic. Explain the reasons for your opinion.

Can some one help me ASAP
please I need to turn it in.

⬇️

Explanation:

The Missouri Compromise was United States federal legislation that supported northern attempts to forever prohibit slavery’s expansion. In an effort to preserve the balance of power in Congress between slave and free states, the Missouri Compromise was passed in 1820, admitting Missouri as a slave state and Maine as a free state. But, what were the advantages and disadvantages of the Missouri Compromise?

Firstly let’s take a look at some of the advantages. Some advantages of the Missouri Compromise included that the Civil War was put off for a little while, and a boundary was made, which helped relieve some of the tension between the North and the South. A boundary was finally set which stopped the spread of slavery past a certain point. This made the North happy, and the South got to keep Missouri. According to experts, “The compromise helped keep the power.” This means that the compromise helped balance power in the government. This was essential to keep war from breaking out. And slavery would not be permitted.

Another factor to consider is the disadvantages. Some disadvantages of the Missouri Compromise include the arguments and debates held after it was made. According to “History” article, “The south kept arguing that the federal government had no right to decide what the states could and could not do.” This means that these debates created tension, and states then began debating whether or not they could secede to the Compromise.

In my opinion, I think Compromises are necessary for a democratic republic because it helps people. Suppose that you’re working with a ton of people, in order for people to work together when they disagree, they might have to compromise. This can avoid conflict and accomplish things. In democracy, compromise can help to make a deal between different parties.

To sum up, everything that’s been stated so far, The Missouri Compromise of 1820 was a major pre-civil war conflict, that determinated what states could have slaves and radically shifted power between the North and South. in an effort to preserve the balance of power in Congress between slave and free states, the Missouri Compromise was passed in 1820 admitting Missouri as a slave state and Maine as a free state. In Henry Clay’s Missouri Compromise, Missouri was to be admitted as a slave state and Maine was to be admitted as a free state. This was to maintain the balance of the North and South. Slavery was to be excluded from all new states in the Louisiana Purchase north of the southern boundary of Missouri. The south felt that the U.S. government had no power under the Constitution, and the compromise helped to divide a line between the enslaved and free states as the country continued to expand and the compromise was successful.

Humaneness may make one shed tears and be reluctant to apply penalties, but law makes it clear that such penalties must be applied. The ancient kings allowed law to be supreme and did not give in to their tearful longings. Hence it is obvious that humaneness cannot be used to achieve order in the state.

The above text is an example of legalism

Explanation:

Legalism is a position where the individuals who support it believe that it is necessary to consider only the aspects of positive law, disregarding the natural right of humanity. For this, it is necessary to manipulate and establish laws in a way that promotes order and the direct salvation of society, without considering other existing factors.

H. Why did the cultures of ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, and India NOT develop in isolation

Answers

Explanation:

These cultures have learned a lot from being with other people that are not of their culture. This basically means that, for example, when the wheel was invented in ancient Mesopotamia, other cultures found it useful and adapted the idea to fit their own specific needs. These cultures you listed could not have been as powerful if they stayed to themselves in isolation. But because they did venture out and fight and learn, they have become what they are.

What were your first impressions of the two characters? in the Mr. Bedford’s first meeting with Mr. Cavor Take a moment to describe your thoughts about one of these characters in about 150 words.

Answers

Answer:

As I sit down to write here amidst the shadows of vine-leaves under the blue sky of southern Italy, it comes to me with a certain quality of astonishment that my participation in these amazing adventures of Mr. Cavor was, after all, the outcome of the purest accident. It might have been any one. I fell into these things at a time when I thought myself removed from the slightest possibility of disturbing experiences. I had gone to Lympne because I had imagined it the most uneventful place in the world. “Here, at any rate,” said I, “I shall find peace and a chance to work!”

Explanation:

I hope this helps!

Answer:

At the earliest opportunity I went to see his house It was large and carelessly furnished; there were no servants other than his three assistants, and his dietary and private life were characterised by a philosophical simplicity. He was a water-drinker, a vegetarian, and all those logical disciplinary things. But the sight of his equipment settled many doubts. It looked like business from cellar to attic—an amazing little place to find in an out-of-the-way village. The ground-floor rooms contained benches and apparatus, the bakehouse and scullery boiler had developed into respectable furnaces, dynamos occupied the cellar, and there was a gasometer in the garden. He showed it to me with all the confiding zest of a man who has been living too much alone. His seclusion was overflowing now in an excess of confidence, and I had the good luck to be the recipient.

The three assistants were creditable specimens of the class of “handy-men” from which they came. Conscientious if unintelligent, strong, civil, and willing. One, Spargus, who did the cooking and all the metal work, had been a sailor; a second, Gibbs, was a joiner; and the third was an ex-jobbing gardener, and now general assistant. They were the merest labourers. All the intelligent work was done by Cavor. Theirs was the darkest ignorance compared even with my muddled impression.

And now, as to the nature of these inquiries. Here, unhappily, comes a grave difficulty. I am no scientific expert, and if I were to attempt to set forth in the highly scientific language of Mr. Cavor the aim to which his experiments tended, I am afraid I should confuse not only the reader but myself, and almost certainly I should make some blunder that would bring upon me the mockery of every up-to-date student of mathematical physics in the countr

The object of Mr. Cavor’s search was a substance that should be “opaque “—he used some other word I have forgotten, but “opaque” conveys the idea—to “all forms of radiant energy.” “Radiant energy,” he made me understand, was anything like light or heat, or those Rontgen Rays there was so much talk about a year or so ago, or the electric waves of Marconi, or gravitation. All these things, he said, radiate out from centres, and act on bodies at a distance, whence comes the term “radiant energy.” Now almost all substances are opaque to some form or other of radiant energy. Glass, for example, is transparent to light, but much less so to heat, so that it is useful as a fire-screen; and alum is transparent to light, but blocks heat completely. A solution of iodine in carbon bisulphide, on the other hand, completely blocks light, but is quite transparent to heat. It will hide a fire from you, but permit all its warmth to reach you. Metals are not only opaque to light and heat, but also to electrical energy, which passes through both iodine solution and glass almost as though they were not interposed. And so on.

Now all known substances are “transparent” to gravitation. You can use screens of various sorts to cut off ous wealth. Of course there is one thing—”

He paused. I stood still.

Is this statement true or false?

The Republican Party was started by people who were in favor of the spread of slavery.

true

false

Answers

Answer:

false

Explanation:

The Republicans called for economic and social modernization. They denounced the expansion of slavery as a great evil, but did not call for ending it in the Southern states.

Black and white abolitionists in the first half of the nineteenth century waged a biracial assault against slavery. Their efforts proved to be extremely effective. Abolitionists focused attention on slavery and made it difficult to ignore. They heightened the rift that had threatened to destroy the unity of the nation even as early as the Constitutional Convention.

Although some Quakers were slaveholders, members of that religious group were among the earliest to protest the African slave trade, the perpetual bondage of its captives, and the practice of separating enslaved family members by sale to different masters.

As the nineteenth century progressed, many abolitionists united to form numerous antislavery societies. These groups sent petitions with thousands of signatures to Congress, held abolition meetings and conferences, boycotted products made with slave labor, printed mountains of literature, and gave innumerable speeches for their cause. Individual abolitionists sometimes advocated violent means for bringing slavery to an end.

Although black and white abolitionists often worked together, by the 1840s they differed in philosophy and method. While many white abolitionists focused only on slavery, black Americans tended to couple anti-slavery activities with demands for racial equality and justice.
