The singer looks on the stage(attract)
Answer:- The singer looks attractive on the stage(attract)In the story, The wife's story..How does the author use word choice to create suspense in the story?
Answer:
This short story retells a horrible event from the perspective of a wife. The entire tale is shrouded in mystery as the wife merely alludes to the event for the majority of the story, without spelling out what actually occurred. Her story begins with a description of her loving husband. She tells of how she first spotted him and how his gentility enticed her.
She extols his virtues as a husband and as a member of the community. He was a wonderful father, well liked and celebrated for his singing abilities. In her words, “He was purely good […] a hard worker and never lazy, and so big and fine-looking. Everybody looked up to him, [and] he had such a beautiful voice” (274). To his wife, he seemed perfect.
However, her account quickly takes a dark turn when she begins to discuss the event itself. She says that after the event, members of the community blamed the moon, claiming a connection between blood and the moon.
They said that it was something in her husband’s blood, just as it had been in his father’s blood. His father had disappeared some time ago, and for the first time she wondered about the nature of his fate. Before the event, she had started to notice that her husband would disappear some nights unexpectedly.
He would leave, making flimsy excuses for his absences. At these times, when he spoke, his voice would change and so would his demeanor. He would even smell different – disgusting – upon his return. This smell would linger for days even after he would bathe. One day, after returning, his daughter took notice of him and became afraid. The next time the moon changed, his wife finally saw what was happening. When he stood in the open, his fur fell away, revealing a pale, fleshy human where once a proud, handsome wolf had stood. After seeing this, his wife cried out, howling in fear.
Hearing her cries, the rest of the pack came and quickly hunted him down. As he lay dead, his wife watched his body, waiting for it to transform back into her husband, but instead his body remained motionless - a lifeless human body growing cold on the ground.

Explanation:
The following passage (paragraphs 3-4) mainly shows that
Remember how, in order to protect her sister Prim, Katniss volunteered to be a Tribute for the Hunger Games? After Katniss answers this call, we
know her world will never be the same.
2. Refusal of the Call
Although Katniss skipped this step, most of the time the hero initially refuses the call. While ordinary life is boring, the hero prefers boredom and
routine because change is scary. However, refusing the call doesn't make it go away. Instead, the knock just gets louder, and if the hero
continues to refuse, he or she suffers the consequences. Frodo is a good example of this, because he loves his comfortable life in the Shire and
doesn't want to leave. It is only after he is almost killed by the Ringwraiths that he realizes he will never be safe as long as the One Ring exists.
Refusing the call means staying stuck and not growing. That wouldn't make for a very good story, would it?
O A Katniss volunteering is a good example of altruism
B. The Hunger Games is a perfect example of a hero's journey with a feminist protagonist
O C. Frodo and Katniss follow nearly identical hero's journeys
D. Katniss volunteering is an exception to Campbell's rules of Departure
After reading the passage, we can say it shows the following about the main characters:
D. Katniss volunteering is an exception to Campbell's rules of Departure.
According to the passage, most heroes of stories do not want to depart at all. They do not want to start the journey, whether literal or figurative, that will lead to the conflicts described in the story. Most heroes prefer to stay comfortably at home, living the lives they know so well.Like Frodo does in "Lord of the Rings," most heroes say a clear no when invited to go on an adventure.Katniss from "The Hunger Games", however, is an exception. She is a hero who volunteers to go on the journey. We know she would rather not go, but she must do it for the sake of her sister. She, unlike other heroes, does not refuse the call.Learn more about the topic here:

Answer:
Cassie needed to learn that it was better to do what is good for you then to stand up for the right thing sometimes, even if it's hard. When Cassie went to Strawberry a white girl named Lillian Jean walked into Cassie and made Cassie apologize to the girl and get off the sidewalk. Cassie didn't understand why she needed to apologize when it wasn't her fault. '“Well apologize,” she ordered. “What?” “You bumped into me now you apologize.” I did not feel like messing with Lillian Jean. I had other things on my mind. “Okay,” I said, starting past, “I'm sorry.” Lillian Jean side stepped in front of me. “That ain't enough. Get down in the road.” I looked up at her. “You crazy?” … '
While some people might say the Lillian Jean was acting fairly for that time and place, I beg to differ. Yes, Cassie should've apologized for bumping into Lillian Jean, although sidestepping in front of Cassie just to tell her to walk in the road was wrong on many levels. Lillian Jean shouldn't have told Cassie to walk in the street because it's dangerous, no matter what race you are or what time period you're in that is just wrong to do.

Which group of words does the author use to advance the plot through the characters?
from Sense and Sensibility – CHAPTER IV
by Jane Austen
"What a pity it is, Elinor," said Marianne, "that Edward should have no taste for drawing."
"No taste for drawing!" replied Elinor, "why should you think so? He does not draw himself, indeed, but he has great pleasure in seeing the performances of other people, and I assure you he is by no means deficient in natural taste, though he has not had opportunities of improving it. Had he ever been in the way of learning, I think he would have drawn very well. He distrusts his own judgment in such matters so much, that he is always unwilling to give his opinion on any picture; but he has an innate propriety and simplicity of taste, which in general direct him perfectly right."
Marianne was afraid of offending, and said no more on the subject; but the kind of approbation which Elinor described as excited in him by the drawings of other people, was very far from that rapturous delight, which, in her opinion, could alone be called taste. Yet, though smiling within herself at the mistake, she honoured her sister for that blind partiality to Edward which produced it.
"I hope, Marianne," continued Elinor, "you do not consider him as deficient in general taste. Indeed, I think I may say that you cannot, for your behaviour to him is perfectly cordial, and if that were your opinion, I am sure you could never be civil to him."
Marianne hardly knew what to say. She would not wound the feelings of her sister on any account, and yet to say what she did not believe was impossible. At length she replied:
"Do not be offended, Elinor, if my praise of him is not in every thing equal to your sense of his merits. I have not had so many opportunities of estimating the minuter propensities of his mind, his inclinations and tastes, as you have; but I have the highest opinion in the world of his goodness and sense. I think him every thing that is worthy and amiable."
"I am sure," replied Elinor, with a smile, "that his dearest friends could not be dissatisfied with such commendation as that and I do not perceive how you could express yourself more warmly." Marianne was rejoiced to find her sister so easily pleased.
"Of his sense and his goodness," continued Elinor, "no one can, I think, be in doubt, who has seen him often enough to engage him in unreserved conversation. The excellence of his understanding and his principles can be concealed only by that shyness which too often keeps him silent and you know enough of him to do justice to his solid worth. But of his minuter propensities, as you call them you have from peculiar circumstances been kept more ignorant than myself. He and I have been at times thrown a good deal together, while you have been wholly engrossed on the most affectionate principle by my mother and I have seen a great deal of him, have studied his sentiments and heard his opinion on subjects of literature and taste; and, upon the whole, I venture to pronounce that his mind is well-informed, enjoyment of books exceedingly great, his imagination lively, his observation just and correct, and his taste delicate and pure. His abilities in every respect improve as much upon acquaintance as his manners and person. At first sight, his address is certainly not striking; and his person can hardly be called handsome, till the expression of his eyes, which are uncommonly good, and the general sweetness of his countenance, is perceived. At present, I know him so well, that I think him really handsome; or at least, almost so. What say you, Marianne?"
"I shall very soon think him handsome, Elinor, if I do not now. When you tell me to love him as a brother, I shall no more see imperfection in his face, than I now do in his heart."
A writer can apply several literary devices to move a scene forward. The dialogue between the characters was moved forward through the writer's use of;
ParallelismParallelism was used to move the plot forward as seen in the sentences used by the characters in the passage. For example, in describing Edward, parallelism was used by Elinor here;
"and, upon the whole, I venture to pronounce that his mind is well-informed, enjoyment of books exceedingly great, his imagination lively, his observation just and correct, and his taste delicate and pure."
So, the conflict was resolved through the author's use of words that connote parallelism in his description of Edward.
