Lastly, he went in with all the percussion instruments such as the timpani, drums, and triangle. Britten made sure that each timbre was clear by playing the highest pitch instrument in each section so people knew which part of the orchestra was playing. He starts off with the melody being played by the whole orchestra and then breaks it down into segments so each group has a chance to shine.
