All of this impacts the public in different ways, but all positive, stimulating the public's support for what is being talked about. Lincoln knew how to do this with mastery and for that reason, his speeches are remembered today, as speeches of great social impact.

Write IN THE BLANK whether each statement is a "dependent or "independent" clause
But I did not speak up for myself.________
Many of them voted for Trump.______
And so we left the party. _______
Karina faced many challenges because of this. ______
So she went to the store. ________
Answer:
1. Independent clause
2. Independent clause
3. Dependent clause
4. Independent clause
5. Dependent clause
Explanation:
An independent clause is a clause that can stand alone as a sentence. It has all characteristics a sentence must have - it contains a subject and a predicate and expresses a complete thought. Independent clauses are connected to each other by coordinating conjunctions (e.g. but - But I did not speak up for myself).
A dependent clause is a clause that can't stand alone as a sentence. It provides additional information about the independent clause, and without it, the dependent clause doesn't express a complete thought. That's why it can't stand alone. Dependent clauses are connected to independent clauses by subordinating conjunctions (And so we left the party, So she went to the store).

"When the legislative and executive powers are united in the same leader, or in the same group of leaders, there can be no liberty" -Montesquieu, The Spirit of the Laws Montesquieu was one a of the enlightenment philosophers that influenced how the founding fathers structured the federal government; based on the quote above, what feature of government did we gain from Montesquieu?
Answer:
Separation of powers
Explanation:
In this quote from Baron de Montesquieu, he stated that if the legislative and executive arms of government are aways in unity then, the checks and balances that should be in government would be absent and this would result in a lack of liberty.
The arms of government are supposed to have a separation of powers or a high degree of independence so that one arm of government does not assume an authoritarian disposition that would lead to a loss of liberty for the people.

Letter to a Citizen of Kentucky, an excerpt
Executive Mansion, Washington,
April 4, 1864.
A. G. Hodges, Esq., Frankfort, Ky.
My Dear Sir:
You ask me to put in writing the substance of what I verbally stated the other day, in your presence, to Governor Bramlette and Senator Dixon. It was about as follows:
I am naturally anti-slavery. If slavery is not wrong nothing is wrong. I cannot remember when I did not so think and feel; and yet I have never understood that the Presidency conferred upon me an unrestricted right to act officially in this judgment and feeling. It was in the oath I took that I would to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. I could not take the office without taking the oath. Nor was it in my view that I might take the oath to get power, and break the oath in using the power.
I understood, too, that in ordinary civil administration this oath even forbade me to practically indulge my primary abstract judgment on the moral question of slavery. I had publicly declared this many times and in many ways; and I aver that, to this day I have done no official act in mere deference to my abstract judgment and feeling on slavery. I did understand, however, that my oath to preserve the Constitution to the best of my ability imposed upon me the duty of preserving, by every indispensable means, that government, that nation, of which that Constitution was the organic law. Was it possible to lose the nation, and yet preserve the Constitution?
By general law, life and limb must be protected; yet often a limb must be amputated to save a life, but a life is never wisely given to save a limb. I felt that measures, otherwise unconstitutional, might become lawful by becoming indispensable to the preservation of the Constitution through the preservation of the nation. Right or wrong, I assumed this ground, and now avow it. I could not feel that to the best of my ability I had even tried to preserve the Constitution, if, to save slavery, or any minor matter, I should permit the wreck of government, country, and Constitution altogether.
When, early in the war, General Fremont attempted military emancipation, I forbade it, because I did not then think it an indispensable necessity. When, a little later, General Cameron, then Secretary of War, suggested the arming of the blacks, I objected, because I did not yet think it an indispensable necessity. When, still later, General Hunter attempted military emancipation, I forbade it, because I did not yet think the indispensable necessity had come. When, in March and May and July, 1862, I made earnest and successive appeals to the Border States to favor compensated emancipation, I believed the indispensable necessity for military emancipation and arming the blacks would come, unless averted by that measure. They declined the proposition; and I was, in my best judgment, driven to the alternative of either surrendering the Union, and with it the Constitution, or of laying strong hand upon the colored element. I chose the latter. In choosing it, I hoped for greater gain than loss; but of this I was not entirely confident...
Yours truly,
A. Lincoln

Rapid climate change along with the stress of adapting to changing water and food supplies were a major factor in the evolving size and complexity of the human brain
Answer:
True.
Explanation:
In remote times, human beings lived lives very different from the ones we live today and, consequently, their body and brain was different from ours, but it was being modified, through evolution, until it reached the biotype we know today.
An essential point of this evolution was the environment that the earth offered the human species and all the changes that this environment underwent. As well as, stressful life and deprivation, often of food and other elements.

A researcher wants to examine the relationship between the weight of a student’s school bag and the presence of back pain. Describe a study you might conduct to answer this question. Be sure to include the type of study and the data to be collected.
Answer:
Cross Sectional Causal Research
Explanation:
A cross sectional causal research - can be used to study the relationship between weight of students' school bag & presence of back pain.
Cross sectional study is the study of difference sample units from population at same period of time. Causal research seeks to identify & explain cause effect relationship between variables under consideration (independent causal variable & dependent resultant variable)
In this case, various students are to be examined at same time, so its a cross sectional study. It studies the impact of independent variable 'school bag weight' on dependent variable 'back pain'. So, its a causal research
