(GIVING BRAINLYIST) Read Part Two of Article A on sea otters.

Sea otters are one of few tool-using mammals. They enjoy a diet of seafood, including sea urchins, mussels, clams, sea snails, and crabs. Sea otters will use rocks to break open their food. The rock acts as an anvil to crack open the shell. After diving down to find their food, sea otters hold the shells against their stomachs as they break them open. Sea otters have pouches of loose skin under each of their forelegs. This is where they keep their rock tool while not feeding. Sea otters are quite smart and will use other objects to help them open the shells of their prey. These include parts of the shell itself, driftwood, man-made objects, or even another shellfish. The use of seaweed as an anchor is another example of the sea otter using tools in its daily life.

Sea otters are well suited to live in the cold waters of the ocean. Both their ears and nostrils can close while diving. A sea otter's claws and teeth are also perfectly suited to their diet. Additionally, these furry creatures have a loose skeleton, which allows them to be very flexible when swimming and grooming. Their lungs are two-and-a-half times bigger than a similarly sized land mammal, which gives them the buoyancy needed to float on their backs.

Sea otters display many unique physical features and behaviors that make them extremely interesting animals. They play and interact with one another, showing a high level of intelligence. Both scientists and wildlife enthusiasts enjoy observing them. Perhaps you'll be lucky enough to spot some of these fun, furry creatures along the shores of the Northern Pacific or, at the very least, at your local zoo.

The essay should answer this question: Explain why the Japanese were able to advance so easily in 1941 and early 1942

Answers

Answer:

In the 1850s, Chinese workers migrated to the United States, first to work in the gold mines, but also to take agricultural jobs, and factory work, especially in the garment industry. Chinese immigrants were particularly instrumental in building railroads in the American west, and as Chinese laborers grew successful in the United States, a number of them became entrepreneurs in their own right. As the numbers of Chinese laborers increased, so did the strength of anti-Chinese sentiment among other workers in the American economy. This finally resulted in legislation that aimed to limit future immigration of Chinese workers to the United States, and threatened to sour diplomatic relations between the United States and China.

The Japanese were able to advance so easily in 1941 and early 1942 because Japan made significant advances in its military campaigns across Asia and the Pacific, and one of the main reasons for this success was the country's advanced military technology and tactics.

What is the military campaign in Japan?

One of the most significant advances in Japanese military technology was its use of naval aviation. Japan had developed a powerful carrier fleet that could strike deep into enemy territory and provide air support for ground forces. This allowed the Japanese to quickly gain control of strategic locations and expand their sphere of influence.

Another factor that contributed to Japan's early success was its military strategy. Japan had a highly trained and disciplined military that was focused on offensive operations. The country's military leaders had developed a strategy that relied on rapid and decisive action to seize key objectives and secure them with overwhelming force.

Hence, Japan made significant advances in its military campaigns across Asia and the Pacific, and one of the main reasons for this success was the country's advanced military technology and tactics.

WILL CHOOSE BRAINLIEST! What is the connotation of the word coyly in paragraph 11?

Answers

The connotation here, I believe, would be 'modestly'. Coy, by definition, means in a reluctant, shy, or modest manner. This doesn't seem like a time when 'shy' would be applicable, and 'reluctant' isn't an option. So I would suggest 'modestly'.

A

Explanation:

Answer:

A. or C.

Explanation:

adapted from Transposition
by John Gould Fletcher

I am blown like a leaf
Hither and thither.
The city about me
Resolves itself into the sound of many voices
5 Rustling and fluttering
Leaves shaken by the breeze.

A million forces ignore me, I know not why.
I am in thrall with all of it and
Suddenly I feel an immense will
10 Stored up hitherto and unconscious till this instant.
Projecting my body
Across a street, in the face of all its traffic
I dart and dash but
I do not know why I go.
15 These people watch me,
I yield them my adventure.

Lazily I lounge through labyrinthine corridors,
And with eyes suddenly altered,
I peer into an office I do not know
20 And wonder at a startled face that penetrates my own.

Roses—pavement—
I will take all this city away with me—
People—uproar—the pavement jostling and flickering—
A hard-faced throng discussing me—I know them all.
25 I will take them away with me,
I insistently rob them of their essence,
I must have it all before night,
To sing amid my green.

I glide out unobservant
30 In the midst of the traffic
Blown like a leaf
Hither and thither,
Till the city resolves itself into a clamor of voices,
Crying hollowly, like the wind rustling through the forest,
35 Against the frozen house fronts
Lost in the glitter of a million movements.

How does the poet develop the narrator's point of view in the third stanza of the poem?
A. The poet describes how the narrator does not want to look around anymore.
B. The poet describes how the narrator does not work very hard.
C. The poet describes how the narrator is slowing down to focus on details.
D. The poet describes how the narrator is recognizing people he knows.

Answers

Pretty sure you’re answer is .D! Hope I could help :)

C. The poet describes how the narrator is slowing down to focus on details.

In the third stanza of the poem, the poet describes how the narrator "lazily" lounges through "labyrinthine corridors," and how the narrator's eyes are "suddenly altered" as he peers into an office he does not know. These details suggest that the narrator is slowing down and becoming more attentive to his surroundings, perhaps as a result of the "immense will" he felt in the previous stanza. This slowing down allows him to focus on details that he might not have noticed before, and to wonder at the "startled face" he sees in the office. Therefore, option C accurately reflects how the poet develops the narrator's point of view in the third stanza.

At the beginning of the day, Julia’s mood was clear. It was foul. No matter what she did, she didn't feel any better. First, she got up on the "right" side of the bed. However, that did nothing for her. Apparently, there was no such thing as the right side of the bed. After that, Julia put on her best outfit for school. It was made up of her perfect pair of jeans and her beloved white sweater. Then, she climbed down the stairs and ate her favorite breakfast. That didn’t even crack a smile. There was just nothing that could boost Julia's mood.

Read the following sentences from the passage.

Then, she climbed down the stairs and ate her favorite breakfast. That didn't even crack a smile.

Choose the sentence that best combines these two sentences.
