“What is the conclusion for racism?”
The conclusion for racism has to be a multi-faceted, all inclusive, and open minded effort promulgated by all walks of life. The first step in this evolution is breaking the cycle of hatred being instilled in our youth. None of us are born with hatred in our hearts, breaking the cycle and changing the “way we’ve always done things” is a paradigm shift which would have to be embraced by everyone.
The next important part of concluding racism has to be a realization by the historically default population (yep, I’m talking about us my fellow caucasians) that, while we may feel strongly against racism and despise what it represents, none of us truly grasp what it feels like to be treated as less than because of the color of our skin. In other words, to conclude racism, white people need to recognize just how strong white privilege is and how it has negatively impacted minorities for so long. I won’t go into the weeds with the statistics of jail populations, unemployment/under-employment, or arrest profiles of whites vs. minorities, but I think anyone who is honest with themselves, knows the statistics are not representative of equality or equitable treatment of minorities.
I could probably fill several screens with all of the ways we need to change to mitigate racism, but before we can successfully put racism behind us, we must stop looking the other way when we see or hear it. Period.
“What is the conclusion for racism?”
It’s when we teach our youth to embrace differences and recognize the strength in unity. It’s when we stop turning a blind eye to the mistreatment of others based on their skin color . It’s when we talk to one another about how to embrace the differences. It’s when we hear, listen, and understand the needs of one another as human beings, regardless of any labels.
Obviously, this is not something which happens overnight, but anything worth having, is worth working hard to achieve. It’s about time we all work a little harder to bridge the gap.

Read the excerpt from "An Image of Africa: Racism in Conrad’s Heart of Darkness.”
The earth seemed unearthly. We are accustomed to look upon the shackled form of a conquered monster, but there—there you could look at a thing monstrous and free. It was unearthly, and the men were—No, they were not inhuman. Well, you know, that was the worst of it—this suspicion of their not being inhuman. It would come slowly to one. They howled and leaped, and spun, and made horrid faces; but what thrilled you was just the thought of their humanity—like yours—the thought of your remote kinship with this wild and passionate uproar.
Read the passage from Frank Willett, a British art historian.
Gauguin had gone to Tahiti, the most extravagant individual act of turning to a non-European culture in the decades immediately before and after 1900, when European artists were avid for new artistic experiences, but it was only about 1904–5 that African art began to make its distinctive impact. One piece is still identifiable; it is a mask that had been given to Maurice Vlaminck in 1905. He records that Derain was "speechless" and "stunned" when he saw it, bought it from Vlaminck and in turn showed it to Picasso and Matisse, who were also greatly affected by it. Ambroise Vollard then borrowed it and had it cast in bronze . . . The revolution of twentieth century art was under way!
Which statement best explains how African culture is presented in the two excerpts?
1 Conrad presents Africans as religious, while Willett suggests that they are incredibly artistic.
2 Conrad describes Africans in beautiful terms, while Willett uses language like “speechless” and stunned.”
3 Conrad says that Africans are wild and free, a view shared by Willett, Picasso, and Matisse.
4 Conrad describes Africans as savages, while Willett is impressed with their sophisticated cultures
Answer:
I believe it is D: Conrad describes Africans as savages, while Willett is impressed with their sophisticated cultures.
Explanation: In the first paragraph, Conrad says things like "They howled and leaped, and spun, and made horrid faces" but in the second paragraph, Willett describes how African art had such an affect on artists such as Picasso and Matisse.

A. Women's rights
B. Conflicts among European nations
C. Wealth among European working classes
D. Forced labor
The correct answer is B. Conflicts among European nations.
Explanation
The New Imperialism was a political and ideological trend that originated in the European powers of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. This trend influenced the territorial expansion of the powers between 1970 and 1914 (beginning of the First World War).
This trend was characterized by aggressive competition between the European powers to acquire new territories on other continents by all means. In addition, spreading the doctrines of racial superiority that denied the ability of the subjugated peoples to govern themselves.
This colonialist ambition caused conflicts between the European powers that at that time were disputing territories in Southeast Asia, India, and Africa.
According to the above, the new imperialism was a territorial and ideological ambition that contributed to the growth of conflicts between the European powers without influencing other issues such as women's rights, the wealth of the European working class, and forced labor.
